Guest scott b Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Hey guys,I am from the Bucks county area (about 45min. north of Philly), and looking for someone to do brake and engine work on a 1930 model A roadster. Any advice / recommendations is greatly appreciated.ThanksScott
jpage Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Bratton's Antique Auto Parts in MD. has brake services available on exchange basis or send in. They are very reputable and can be found on the internet. Also check to see if there are any chapters of the Model A Ford Club or The Model A Restorers club near you. I'm sure you would find a knowlegeable hobbyist that would be willing to help. If you are mechanically inclined, there are many good books available that will guide you through a brake rebuild. I personally don't know of very many private rebuilders around any more but Mac's Antique Auto does sell rebuilt engines, short, long and full blocks all with different options. I bought mine from West Falls Machine in New York years ago but I'm not sure that they stll do that work. Also check out the forum on The Ford Barn as they specialize in Model A's. Good luck on your search!
Dave Mellor NJ Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Michael Etling in Aston(Delaware co),Pa can help you.
motoringicons Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) Schwalms has a great reputation and is not to far from you. They do engine rebuilds as well as other component rebuilds such as steering, brakes, trans, etc. Here is their website:Schwalms Babbitted Bearings Edited February 8, 2013 by motoringicons (see edit history)
