Guest llamalor2112
Hello you lucky reatta owners. I love these cars and am currently helping my father hunt down the perfect one to buy around here (pnw)Anyways, we came across a hum-ho '88 that needs A LOT of work, however, it has these rims that the guy (who's the original owner) says are the original set. My dad also insists they were a factory option. I've yet to find them online here though. They certainly are great looking match on the reatta though Anybody know??Thanks guys -Evan
SeanR
Those are NOT the original rims for 88-90. What else is the owner fibbing about?
Guest llamalor2112
See that's what I thought too. However these aren't the first of these I've even seen myself. I know a friend of my dad who has a white 88 with these. I'm wondering if a local dealer went to all the trouble of a custom rim set just to charge some extra $
D-a-n-i-e-l
Some one glued the Reatta emblem to a after market set.
Barney Eaton
There were no wheel options in 1988, 1989, or 1990. In 1991 you could get white wheels on white cars only for $100.I do not know the origins of the wheels on that Reatta but there were some Mustangs that had a similar wheel and Pontiac had a wheel something like that also, but I believe they are aftermarket because I do not remember very many factory wheels that had a locking hubcap. The Reatta emblem is an easy addition......many owners have done it when they changed wheels. Also, there have been a couple of good deals on 1991 coupes for sale in Washington state.......at least one is posted on the Reatta buy/sell
NCReatta
I've seen a couple cars with those rims too. Lemme see if I can dig up a picture.
Guest llamalor2112
Hey hey! Curious to know for sure And my old man is dead set on an 88 coupe, fully loaded sans sunroof. We actually have found two we're going to check out today so hopefully by the end of the day there'll be a new toy at the house

Guest llamalor2112
I think both we're going to see today are stock garage queens so hopefully I won't have to pester anyone but in the event I do, Thanks! Great to know!
ol' yeller
Good to see another PNW Reatta owner (potentially) on here. Good luck on your search, and welcome!Greg
Guest Corvanti
fully loaded sans sunroof. :cool:probably a good idea NOT to have a sunroof - given where you live and they tend to leak/have electrical issues, from what i've read. if he likes the '88 due to the CRT screen and instrument panel, the '89 also has that. plus a few other niceties - like a remote key lock.the wheels look very similar to a '95 Mustang GT i used to own.good luck in your search! Guest llamalor2112
Haha Yup, sans=w/out. And the remote entry certainly would be nice...however, we just got home and one of the two is a real winner! Florida car til '99 then garaged in wa and only driven on the rare sunny days. Fully loaded, 16way seats, no sunroof, regular maintenance done, clean record, 105k miles, red on red exterior w/ super unworn saddle ibterior. Beautiful, clean.....$3800. Old man is going to summon up the funds and pull the trigger I was just smart enough to not get any pictures...but that'll change once its at our house
Guest Corvanti
cool! but remember - nothing really happened "sans" pics when you have her in your possession.
Guest jimmyk
Those 'original stock' wheels look like wheels from the early 1990's Cutlass Calais.
DAVES89
jimmyk I believe you are correct. I went to Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and looked up a 1990 wheel and it looks like that is the wheel. Even has the removable center cap which would allow someone to easily mount a Reatta center cap.
Guest reattasam
If these are not original to the Reatta,,,,I would still like to find out who makes these wheels??? Any help??
DAVES89
Help is in post 14 and 15. It is an early '90s Olds and you should try Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market
Guest Corvanti
If these are not original to the Reatta,,,,I would still like to find out who makes these wheels??? Any help??you may want to search on "google images" for the vehicles already mentioned. you may find what your looking for. i went thru a few pages of the trofeo images and saw nothing close: https://www.google.com/search?q=oldsmobile+trofeo&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=DNw&tbo=u&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ei=lsMRUcXlGI268wS204DgCg&ved=0CDUQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=680i do think they were aftermarket, similar to the ones on my '95 mustang. i'd start a serious search around that time frame.hope this helps.EDIT: as usual, late to post after the answer is given due to slow typing and phone interruption "mid stream". and mistook the earlier post as a trofeo. sorry... Rawja
I'm fairly certain that the Calais' rims were of a smaller bolt circle than was used on GM's larger offerings. (100mm vs. 115mm)
padgett
Manufacturer and other information (diameter, width, offset) is usually cast in the back side of alloy rims. GM options are usually from Motor or Western Wheel.

Guest llamalor2112
Also, just look at those calais wheels next to the ones I posted. They're...very similar yeah, but not the same. That on top of the fact I have talked to a few guys who have all seen several reattas with these same tires has me still wondering what they are? Guest Mc_Reatta
Take your photo to your local Buick dealers and hope there's an old timer there that might know what they are. May have been a local dealer option. Otherwise track down an owner and ask them.
Guest llamalor2112
This is what I've been thinking. My Riv came with a specially mounted and wired Cell Phone add-on from the dealer. Definitely not a factory deal. I'm beginning to think this was a similar deal
