DAVES89
I just called Tony. It appears that some guy has been out there and has been pulling parts. The Headlight switch is gone. I asked for the Instrument Cluster as well as the ABS leads and am first for those. [He took my contact info]. This shop is where I picked up a number of ABS leads so they know me. Guest BJM
Is that a flame red interior on that car? TomTomSure looks like it to me. I would be all over this car. 4 1991 wheels, flame red seats look mint, armrest, steering wheel on and on but as is the problem we all face is that the heavier items are basically local pick up only. I am considering a 1991 Red/Flame Red purchase and it would be a shame to let that interior go to waste.
Guest HessLakeGuy
Bryan:Just what I was thinking. Might have some good stuff.I have not seen that many interiors like that at meets over the years. Wonder if it has floor mats? Tom
Guest BJM
I wonder if we have any local members in Colorado that could piece it out. I could pick it up later.
KDirk
It would indeed be a terrible waste to let this interior get away. It is in very good condition from what can be seen. At least the seats, dashboard, console and airbag. Can't tell on the carpet, but it could be cleaned and redyed if it isn't badly worn. Since flame red was a 91 only color (well, excepting 1990 S/60 convertibles) these parts should be saved if at all possible. I'd try to get some of the interior parts of this car if I had room to store the stuff (but I don't). Goes without saying that there are plenty of exterior parts to be had from this one as well.KDirk

It's speculative on my part - that I might be purchasing that red/red 1991 in Chicago but if I did then it makes sense to buy these parts to support "our" 2 cars. I don't care about cost, it would never get to the expense of some of my older cars - to buy these good used parts. I will try to reach out to this seller but in the meantime if someone knows of a Reatta owner who could help as a liason between the interested parties - that lives in COLORADO that would be great! Reatta interiors seem to hold up well, except the arm rest areas on the door and console lids. (I'm talking about soft parts at least)
KDirk
Bryan, yes, the seats seem to do rather well. My driver's seat in the 91 shows some minor wear on the seatback nearest the door from sliding in/out of the seat, but otherwise is pretty decent. Considering it now has 105,000 on it, I am quite surprised how well they wear. The biggest weak link is the interior door panel design. Mine are both getting ratty (no tears, but warping and alligator skin) and I've resigned myself to the fact that I will have to spend big $ to have them custom reupholstered if I want them truly decent. Repainting used door interior panels is a short term fix at best (been there, done that). The center armrest/cupholder is also a bit screwy on the 91 because it is molded upholstery, not sewn. It seem to harden up over time, and then it warps around the top of the cupholder insert. I redid a 1990 armrest (sans cupholder) in flame red for mine, and have been working on a new cupholder design to make up for the loss of the [rather sorry IMO] factory cupholder. So, I don't really need interior parts from this one - at least not now - and would only be stockpiling them if I did pick some up. About the only thing I might want from this car are the center caps and maybe a wheel or two for spares. Guess I'll call Monday and see if they are available and at what cost.
