ckowner
I am looking for a pair of metal sidemount covers for a 5.50/18 tire. Does anyone know if the are being reproduced? The covers I am looking for are something like a 2/3 circle motorcycle fender. Get the picture? Can anyone help?Rick VanOene
Curti
I seriously doubt there is a reproduction of a 18" tire cover. The tooling is expensive. What kind of car is it going on. I have an early Auburn.

Rich Janouskovec
I've been looking for a pair of those for about 5 years now. No luck yet. But here is a picture of what you are looking for
keiser31
Can anyone produce pictures? I have tire covers that i don't know what they fit. Here is the 1931 Dodge style....these are for 19", but are very tight, so they may fit 18" also. They are sort of "adjustable" to the tire size somewhat. Edited January 28, 2013 by keiser31 (see edit history)
Rich Janouskovec
Those look very close, but I don't know if the face plate will fit in the fender well.
countrytravler
This is for the fender spare? If you have the covers around the tire, how does the padle tire holder hold down the spare without damaging the shield?
Rich Janouskovec
the tire sits in the fender well pretty snug and the paddle has a rubber a rubber pad under it so you just snug it down
ckowner
I have a 1930 DeSoto CK coupe (Canadian) with wire wheels and dual sidemounts. Canadian cars had 18" wheels with the wire spoke option. The covers I am looking for are like the ones on Kieser's 31 Dodge. The DeSoto has leather straps to hold the tire to the post. I though chrome covers over the treads would add a nice finishing touch. Maybe I'll just make vinyl covers with the "De" logo
