Is this a 63 or 64?

Definately a '63: Clues - BUICK across the trunk, round medalionn in taillight, seat pattern, location of wiper and headlight switches (console), and heater controls.

Equipment appears to be custom leather interior (familiar cracks), power windows. Wrong wheel covers. Tilt wheel? could be but you can't tell from the angle of the wheel. Probably has AM wonderbar radio w/ power antenna. Looks like it's a non a/c car from where the two levers are positioned.

Probably not a bad deal depending on how it runs.

Thanks. This is the kind of car I buy and can afford. I like black. Not so keen on white interior.

Sidenote: Every week on my Craigs List searches I find at least 5 nice original or decent restorable cars for sale by the next generation. When my dad passes away, I "might" get a 2012 Ford Ranger. :(

I also do some classic bicycle restoration and those enthusiasts have a separate forum for ebay and craigslist listings. New things pop up everyday and there are lots of grateful folks who take advantage of these listing. Do you think that the Riviera Owners could support a sub-forum simiar to that of the Reatta Owners for Buy/Sell and/or eBay/Craigslist listings?

Here are some that are currently on the Kansas City Craigslist:

1964 Buick Riviera classic car - $12000 (Clinton, MO)

1967 Buick Riviera Grille & Head Light Assembly - $100 (kcmo)

1969 Buick Riviera - $3000 (Kansas City)

1996 buick riviera supercharged 2,000 OBO - $2000 (kcks)

1995 buick only under 100,000 - $2500 (kc)

Buick Riviera 97 - $2500 (Pilot Grove)

I didn't list any dealer ads. There were quite a few of those as well.

Bryan - Black w/ white leather is a very striking color combo. You need to see it when it looks like new

I know that the Riviera AACA forum should have a Buy/Sell breakout. It would not draw the numbers that the Reatta subsection does but would have as much interest as many stand alone forums in the AACA further down.

When I post a Riviera For Sale that I find, it often gets buried pretty quickly. By seperating it out, it would be easier to manage posts. Also, the Reatta was built for only 4 years yet has it's seperate Buy/Sell forum while the Riviera was built from 1963-1999. Enough said.

I agree with RivNut, black w/white interior is awesome!

Well...at least it's Black.

Perhaps Clark's makes a fabric and vinyl white interior. Although not technically correct, there would be many among the 40,000 other built that would be accurate.

I sent the seller an admittedly lowball offer. I did this because the market is so soft and because 2nd gen owners want cash, sorry to say, over the obvious to me emotional attachment to the cars.

That 69 is a smoking bargain. IF the motor has been accurately rebuilt, despite being a 455, look at the lack of wear on the drivers side armrest indicating a lower use car to begin with, THEN factor in bucket seats console set up and what looks like a straight body, then through $2500 at this seller and drive away with a bargain.

As we all know, after 63-65 (Clarks) the Riviera interior costs more to restore then muscle cars [i have a 66 Olds Toronado that needs $3500 in interior restoration, same as Riviera] so focus on the body and enjoy this 69!

That 81 Riviera in tan is an awful nice car despite it's aftermarket wheels. $4800 is too high and he won't sell it for that in this market BUT if one could get the original wheels and wheelcovers and offer $3000 this one is nice. Maybe tan is not your favorite color but this one shows really well.
