What is this car?

Seeing the door upholstery, handles including windshield riser handle, instrument panel, gas tank filler, modified bunperettes and steering wheel I would be almost certain that it is a Series 6-27 or Series 6-28 Pontiac. Either a late 27/early 28 or late 28 or even an early 29 Pontiac. A view of the wheels or engine would confirm which. Vacuum tank (no fuel pump) would indicate 1927, fuel pump and 12 spoke Jaxon wheels would indicate 1928 and 10 spoke Jaxon wheels would be 1929 (early)

Leif the guage cluster nails it for sure. It's been 48 years since I sold my 3 Pontiacs from the 20's. The only dash that I could absolutely identify by memory would have been the 29. I think the back bumper is Pontiac. It has been reworked to fit the hitch.

If the license plate is any indication of the age of the car, that poor car was really abused to have become the mess it is in that photo in such a short time.

Well if it's a 1928 or so and it has been on the Texas roads for 10 years according to the plate, it was probably pretty worn out already.
