edselsouth1
I have a cluster assembly from a car, and need some help in identifying it. I believe it is from a 70s European car, possibly VW or BMW. please see attached pic. thanks.
Fleek
has the feel of Mercedes, around 1970. No time to search, but it may be a starting point for you.
Grandpa
Note that the speedometer has the shift points marked on the face for a four speed transmission. Since the cluster has a temperature indicator, the car is not an air cooled VW. Grandpa

Grandpa
DJ, Good call. The indicator lights on the right side have a typical VW look for the period. VW owned Audi at the time - - - I am not sure if VW still owns the Audi brand. A friend owned a new Audi 100LS in the 1970s and had a lot of problems with it. edselsouth1
Fleek, Grandpa, Bleach,....... Thanks for your replies. I've had this cluster in my parts storage for quite a number of years, and just couldn't remember what it came from. Thinking back, the car that the part came from was brought over to the U.S. from Germany, by a German Air Force fellow, so could absolutely be from an Audi. The car was parted out in the late 70s/early 80s. this was the only item I saved from it. David.
