Note that the speedometer has the shift points marked on the face for a four speed transmission. Since the cluster has a temperature indicator, the car is not an air cooled VW. Grandpa

You weren't too far off with suggesting VW. It's from an early 70's Audi 80.

DJ, Good call. The indicator lights on the right side have a typical VW look for the period. VW owned Audi at the time - - - I am not sure if VW still owns the Audi brand. A friend owned a new Audi 100LS in the 1970s and had a lot of problems with it. Grandpa

Fleek, Grandpa, Bleach,....... Thanks for your replies. I've had this cluster in my parts storage for quite a number of years, and just couldn't remember what it came from. Thinking back, the car that the part came from was brought over to the U.S. from Germany, by a German Air Force fellow, so could absolutely be from an Audi. The car was parted out in the late 70s/early 80s. this was the only item I saved from it. David.
