Guest slacker1965 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 anybody have any good tips/tricks to re-hydrate stiff(bit not cracked) vinyl seats? armor all isn't gettin it so far......
RivNut Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 In my experience, Armor All will help DE hydrate vinyl - too much silicone in it. Things look nice after an application, but after a while the silicones cause 'plasticizer migration' in the vinyl and with out the platicizers the vinyl dries out and cracks. I personally like the Aerospace 303 products for care, but I don't know what they'll do to rejuvenate old vinyl. What have you found on Google or Bing or one of the other search engines about it? I know of a good product for leather, but that's not applicable to you. Keep searching, read reviews, and you'll find something. Sorry I couldn't help more.]Ed
60FlatTop Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 D&L hand cleaner is loaded with lanolin. I have massaged it into vinyl seats and been real happy with the results. I have also used Softscrub for white vinyl tops, just using my fingers. Good stuff but you have to caress parts of your car to do it; kinda kinky to some.Bernie
Guest slacker1965 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Try it.can't quite make out the brand name...I live in charlotte, nc....do I need to find a feed store?
Guest mgibson Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Try "Southern States" store or possibly "Tractor Supply" store.
Guest Rob J Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Stay away from Armor All. That stuff is garbage. It WILL cause your vinyl and dash to crack. I can't believe that crap is still on the market. I used to use it back in the 80's, but I didn't know any better then. Learned the hard way.
Guest Steeleco Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Trying to think of where you can get Udder Balm in Palm Beach? Sorry but this is cracking me up. I'm sure it would probably work. What about mink oil or saddle soap?
Mr Riviera Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Amazon.com: Udder Balm - 12 ounce jar: Pet Supplies
60FlatTop Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Udder balm in Palm Beach.... Somehow I keep thinking of an over-tanned real estate agent about the same age as my Electra.Bernie
