Guest Ranger
My '90 has the bothersome cowl shake between 48-51 mph. I was watching "Wheeler Dealers Revisited" on the Velocity channel last night. They were flipping a BMW 635 CSi. One of the things they did was to address the cowl "flex" that they said was an issue with the BMW. They attached a one piece, manufactured unit, that bolted to the strut towers, the pieces on the strut towers were welded to a hefty flat metal bar that connected the towers from port to starboard. The whole assembly reminded me a double ended box wrench. Has anyone had any experience with an assembly such as this? In theory, could it help our cars? Thanks,Jim
padgett
Reatta already has three, one on each side and one tying the strut towers together. Issue is a lack of tortional rigidity. If you want to fix, add a roll cage or might try cocktail shakers.
Rawja
You also might try lowering your tire pressure a bit... I think some have had improvement by running high twenties PSI.
