Looking to redo my two front buckets on a 65 custom interior in fabric material. Is clarks corvair the best place for this. Also anyone know where i can get cushions as clarks corvair doesnt carry cushions for the custom interior. Thanks

Clark's is the best source. I hear you on the cushions. I too, wish they made them. Have your local auto upholstery shop fix you up.

I am in the same boat, my upolster guy said to order the foam Clarks has and he is going to cut it down the center on a band saw and glue in a peice of foam to fill out the seat. I just ordered it a few days ago, I will try and let you know the results.

OK Riviera People: Several months ago I went to Bob's Foam factory looking for some foam stuffing for a boxing heavy bag. Bob had what I needed and shared something with me. The price of foam has risen dramatically and what used to be a cheap plentiful commodity is no longer cheap. If you have the money though it is plenti-plentiful. The other thing I learned was how foam is formed from it's basic state. It's just glued together and cut to the desired shape with that band saw Puceriver is talking about. I would think that an upholstery shop could come up with something, hugh? Mitch

OPGI as they are the same and a little cheaper.

Cheaper is the only thing that would be true about OPGI. Maybe less expensive too, but definately cheaper.

You need to find bb1970's post on the junk he got from OPGI that they called original. NOT THE SAME THING!!! I'm betting that you'll change your mind quickly after reading through those posts. Same with the part they call a package tray.

Ouch on the OPGI package tray...... I just ordered one from Cars, Inc. and they told me it will be shipped direct from the factory. Now you've got me wondering if OPGI uses the same source as Cars Inc. Has anybody purchased a package tray from Cars Inc??

OK Riviera People: I would not use OPGI. I did a pair of Rivs with Clarks and their products are really sensational. The first, a Standard 65 in saddle vinyl looks better than oem because oem Standard vinyl on 64 and 65 is cheesier than Custom material. The second was a white Custom 64. It really looks sharp and the vinyl is....just like my first job fantastic. I haven't got to a 65 Custom yet although that will be on the program sooner than later.

OPGI's kits include buttons where Clark's don't. The upholstery shop told me that they have the exact (?) white buttons and they included them with the installation price. They look great. I am waiting for Clark's to sell a popular priced package tray. OPGI's package tray is a piece of flat cardboard. What an extreme waste of money that was.

Wouldn't it be nice if Clarks offered a complete kit at a package price that included everything from soup to nuts where all you would need to do is install it? Mitch

I think that Clarks has the soup, nuts, and everything else you need; you just have to order it one item at a time. What are you looking for that they don't have?

I got my seats back and they look great. I bought evrything from Clarks including foam. My car is a custom and my upholster did not have to do anything to the foam. Its a nice tight fit on both seats

Did you ever get this done and, if so how did it turn out? I'm inclined towards the fabric also.

I ordered fabric seats in blue from Clarks they fit very nice and look great. They are in the car now but I,m still a ways away from completion.

I got my standard '64 front and rear seat frames back from glass beading and painting late last December and haven't done much since. Too many cars, work, and the seats don't look "that" bad anyway. I'm just looking to bring the Riviera up to 100% before I croak.

Has anyone replaced the rear seat foam? Are the front buns adaptable or should they be carved from a block. My concern it cutting the channels too deep and having them tear putting it together or during use.

BTW, the seats in the car are '65 Custom. They came from a parts car in 1978. The upper outer shoulder seam of the driver's seat has separated. They don't need foam. I plan the buy new upholstery for that seat and make it a very good '65 custom interior for sale. They are nice and the car has been inside for the last 35 years, not all sun dried.
