fordmerc Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Photos show a support from air cleaner to head, and I don't have one. Therefore, I need help constructing one.The piece of metal shown seems to have a curved contour rather than straight - is that correct? I assume it connects to the bolt on the side of the air cleaner. Which head bolt does it connect to? (closest or the one in the center)Car is '41 120.
HH56 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Here's a couple of more photos which might help with your questions. Maybe someone knows the actual width and metal gauge or thickness but at least he basic shape is shown and bolt appears to be the middle one.
Dave Mitchell Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 It is straight - the only angles are on the ends - more at the head and less at the air cleaner. For cars with a heater there is a round strap for the metal tube that goes to the heater. I can look to see if I have one. packard12s@hotmail.com Dave
fordmerc Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 The images seem pretty clear and answer my question. The responses are divergent and are the source of my original question since some photos I had seen suggested a straight piece. I just made models of both, I like the curved one better, so I'm going to use that as the final pattern. While I'd prefer to have a correct thickness I'll use whatever I can find that is functional and looks "OK".Thanks
