Guest buickman1985 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 What is the best way to sell my 62 Special Convertible? Paint needs work, but is still a great 20 footer, no rust. 58,000 original miles and runs great. New tires and muffler. i know I can't get what I think it is worth, but I don't want to give it away. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks,Jim AshbyPlano, Il 60545
Guest Rob McDonald Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 JIM, Hagerty Insurance values your car in #4 condition (20-footer, daily driver, needs lots of details) at about $7000. With fresh paint and/or a new correct interior, that could climb to $11,400, which is the value of a #3 car according to Hagerty. 1962 Buick Special | HagertyPosting it on AACA's Buick - Buy/Sell forum, with lots of pictures, has been known to sell cars - or at least make online friends. eBay is the obvious popular choice but you need to set your expectations pretty low there - and maybe be pleasantly surprised! AutoTrader Classics and Hemmings.com both have a world-wide online presence that specifically attracts old car hobbyists. Don't bother with an ad in a local newspaper but try posting one in a nearby grocery store. It's free and worth a shot.
