Hey folks,

This is my first post here, so please bear with me. I'm a moderator over on V8Buick and have been entrenched in the Tri Shield since I was old enough to drive. This past July, I traded in my 98 Regal LS with over 180K miles and bought a new Verano, which I love. Last September, I sold the 72 Stage 1 4 speed Gran Sport I had for over 15 years on eBay. It was going to need a complete restoration and I didn't have the time or the money, so I made a decision to list and I did well, so it was worth it.

So, as you can see, I'm a Buick guy, through and through. I've taken a lot of heat from friends over the years but I've managed to come out okay. :-)

Anyway, my uncle is in the early stages of trying to sell the 32 Sedan he's had for close to 50 years. Back in the early 90's, he had it painted and also had the complete interior redone. The entire time he's owned it, it's been garaged, which is the main reason an 80 year old car that's spent it's life in New England isn't rotted to the ground. I don't have much more info at the present time but I do plan on helping him out by taking a boatload of pictures and video and gathering up any documentation he has.

I'm wondering what kind of market there is for this model? I'm not really well versed in these pre-war cars so any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance and I hope everyone has a safe happy holiday season.

Need pictures and more information. Do you know what model it is? There's a difference in value with models, with the 90 being the most valuable. Quality of paint, originality of interior, all have a bearing on value.

Get out the camera and give us more information! Merry Christmas....

I do believe that it is a Model 57 as I recall, which makes it the lowest price car originally. I do not recall all the details as it has been a few years since I saw the car. I can also tell you, there will not be a hugh market for such cars these days. I recall meeting your Uncle as far back as the first BCA National in Danvers. I do not recall his attendence at the recent event. I will see if I can get you some local advice on looking at the car to suggest the price.

welcome to the 32 Buick world. I have been collecting info on 32 Buicks for 12 years. The info needed is the serial #( found on the frame behind the left front wheel), Cowl tag info ( found on cowl on passenger side) and possibly the engine # ( found on driver side of block just under the head above the generator. The series of the car will tell a lot about value. series 57 - 10,803 cars, 57S - 9,786 cars; 67 9,031 cars , 87 4,089 cars, 97 1,485 ; 90 1,368. cars. There are also club sedans 91 2,237 cars. 90 series cars qualify as Classic cars for AACA judging. Parts availability for the 50 series cars are reasonably available. Let me know if I can help. Between John Scheib and myself we should be able to jeep you pointed in teh right direction.

David and everyone else,

Thanks for the reply and the holiday well wishes.

I seem to recall him saying it was a Series 90 but that was a while back and I could be wrong. I'll find out when he's back from visiting family up North.

I'm off this week and once the weather cooperates, I'm going to stop by and snap a few pictures & get more info.

Brett,

He has it listed in the BCA Roster as a 57S, the same as mine. Will be anxious to see the photos. Check for a thread on WTB 1932 Buick Sedan. The original poster did not continue dialog as far as I know and he was offered a near complete car, partially restored.

Brett. Your Uncle was a member in 2011 when the roster was last published, so he should have a copy. It is only in hard copy and only available to members.

Off topic, I haven't got one email notification from this thread. I've gone into my settings and set up instant notification, too.

There's nothing in my spam folder either.

Any suggestions?

Brett,

Some of us are quite "older" and probably do not use all the features available on the forum. I think you are talking about an e-mail notification if anyone adds to this thread. I recall seeing that possibiklity, but do not use the fesature as I check most every day anyway to see what is new in Buick-land. Hopefully, someone with more knowledge can help you.

Brett,

Sorry to hear of your uncle's passing.  We are fast approaching the BCA National Meet in Allentown, but Jon Henry and/or I will try to get in touch with you privately.  You were looking for some response on the forum, but you had indicated you would add photos, and I do not see any posted.  I am not sure what kind of response you were looking.

Brett:

Sorry to hear of the death of your Uncle Bob. For me it's been a while since I've seen the 57s. It would great if you could post some pictures. John is correct in that the best place to get an idea of club interest in Allentown Pa.
