avgwarhawk Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I would love to know if this fits a 54 with 264.
MrEarl Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I don't think so Chris. It would fit 53-56 with 322's but the 264's are a smaller disc and clutch finger configuration.I am wondering if that clutch would still be good after 50 years.
avgwarhawk Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I have seen two pressure plates for the 54's. The 264 is 10 inch disc. The pressure plates should be fine even for 50 years. I would think the springs still has the tensil strength. The clutch itself ok. But, yes, I have seen the 3 finger pressure plate and another plate that has several fingers.
Guest Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Check for posts on team buick. He found a pressure plate from a jeep grand cherokee bolts on to the flywheel. Doesn't everyone know that yet? Search on straight eight posts, the flywheel pattern same for 264 v8 as small str8
