joe_padavano
It is certainly possible to chrome plate aluminum. The anodizing must be chemically removed first. As noted above, a good chrome shop can do this.
Guest clapperc
Anyone had this done successfully?
Restorer32
Sure, some 50's Cadillac bumper parts are aluminum. We've had several sets redone, no particular issues. Any good chrome shop should be able to do it for you.
West Peterson
I believe you have to bake aluminum first, to remove impurities. You can plate without baking, but you run a high risk of the nickel blistering. How the baking process is done, and how high the heat has to be, i don't know. Guest clapperc
I read other Central PA folks here... Do you-all have any Central PA shop names? I live near Altoona PA or an hour to State College.

Restorer32
Librandi did a pair of aluminum bumper ends for a '58 Caddy Brougham we have in the shop. He knows his stuff.
