Guest chevy_dude97
I was under the impression we had to use lead additive for the fact that they are not hardened. I have read a few tech articles that state using hardened VLV solves this problem and the infamous lead free/ ethanol added fuels. Or marvel mystery oil, either added in the tank or with an inverse oiler. Can anyone set me straight w/ reference?

FLYER15015
Chevy_dude97I use CD-2 lead additive in my '40 Buick (320cid) strt 8, just as a precaution. It is the orig engine and since the speedo was replaced years ago, I do not know how many miles she has on her, but I think it's a lot.Mike in Colorado

I sappose when I tear her down I will have to post wether or not the vlvs where hardened. I pray it is not too soon however as she must stay alive for shipment to the promised land next year.(Alaska)
