Guest Sidney22 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 I have all the repair records for this 1990 Reatta we just got. It's been in the shop numerous times for the Door Ajar light being on. It's on again. Intermittently. No doors appear to be ajar though, and sometimes it will go off when you re-close all the doors, and sometimes it stays on? Anybody else ever have this problem? Also, the electronic problem light is on right now (alternator is not working propertly). Once the alternator is replaced, will that light go off automatically or does it have to be reset? Thanks for the answers ahead of time.
handmedownreatta Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 the door ajar problem is a bad door switch or bad connection.all warning lights go off if the battery is disconnected.
Guest Corvanti Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 i would think your "electronic problem" light will go out on its own after the alternator is replaced. it did on my '89.
Guest Sidney22 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 (edited) Alternator is fixed. Light did go off, thanks! Will have to dig deeper into the door ajar light. As I mentioned, that one has been worked on by mechanics in the past. And, I can see by reading some older posts here, that others have had the same Door Ajar light problem! ; ( Edited December 8, 2012 by Sidney22 (see edit history)
