John Gelfer
This was pictured in my home town newspaper years ago. Does anyone know what year it is, and anything about the Baker cars?
Guest Bob Call
Google Baker Electric Automobile and Baker Motor Vehicle Co. Prototype was demonstrated at the 1893 World Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Acutal production and sales was from 1899 through 1916. The photo above looks like a 1916 except the location of the headlights. So it's probably from 1913 thru 1916. Electric automobile technology is still not at the point of being able to economically compete with the internal combustion engine automobile. Guest scrimmi1
Hello,I've a longtime volunteer mechanic for the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome museum here in Dutchess County, NY. We have a 1911 Baker Electric that we're getting out of storage and it is in fairly good condition; do you know where we could find manuals for it? There are six forward speeds and three reverse speeds. From what I've researched, the setup calls for eight six volt batteries, but I just want to be sure. I put together a wiring schematic together, but I'm not sure what the polarity should be for the battery hookup. Any help would be great. Thanks,Sean
