Guest gemstoneshiftknobs Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 HELLO EVERYONECAN ANYBODY TELL ME WHEN THE MARBLE TYPE SHIFT KNOBS FIRST CAME OUT,I HAVE A COLLECTION OF THEM I SAVED FOR MY CARS,LATE 20S EARLY THIRTIES BUT MANT TO KNOW IF THERE AN ERA ACCESSORY, DAVEAftermarket shift knobs were likely the first auto accessory ever made. So as soon as someone thought of the shifter I would guess that the next day someone else thought of the custom shift knob. There was already an industry producing slag glass products before there were cars so shift knobs were being made as soon as there was a demand for them. I don't know the year but very close to 1900 wouldn't surprise me.
