Guest Shayne B
Be great to get a little advice. I've taken everything off - lock nut - split the chain, the strap etc. It is loose but won't come out. Is case under the lock nut something that screws off as well? Please help me. I'm still waiting for a manual.
Friartuck
How about including a picture? What make starter unit?? The DELCO starter-generator on a mid 20's Lincoln has long bolts recessed in the crankcase (flywheel) that are accessible from the rear of the engine (easiest if floor boards are up). platt-deutsch
If its a 24 DB and you have all that stuff off it should come right out but you may have to spread the 2 wedges on the back side against the engine. It is simple just loosen the jam nut and turn the threaded rod until the wedges are spread apart. It should just slide out..
