Guest namvetschrysler Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 G/day all, Has anyone ever rebuilt the engine mounts on a 1930 Chrysler, i have pulled a spare set i have apart which is easy and i think easy to re assemble but i am not to sure what i need to use to replace the rubber stuff that was moulded on to them, do i use insertion rubber or some other type of rubber product, the mounts on my car at the moment have no flex the rubber is rock hard.Any help greatly appreciated
60ch Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Antique Auto Parts Cellar Contact these people. They did a 35 Chrysler front motor mount for me and did a fine job. Thanks, Terry
Guest namvetschrysler Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Thanks for that Terry but to send them from Australia and back plus the cost to get them done is beyond my budget, hoping someone has done this themselves and can offer advice

New reproduction ones are $169 from the states but with the postage and import tax to the UK it makes them very expensive. I am trying to find an alternative.John 1930U
Guest Commodore Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Then and Now Auto has a slideshow on the vulcanization process used to rebuild Motor Mounts.NORS and Re-vulcanized Motor Mounts and Other Parts
Guest namvetschrysler Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Great slideshow, however the Chrysler 66 mounts are a bit different that those shown, on the 66 there is no exposed rubber as such, the rubber section of the mount is sandwiched between the body of the mount and the retaining plate, this rubber section is under 1/2 inch thick, i will try and post some pics soon

yirgaman Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Give Olson's Gaskets a call, phone (300) 871-1207. They've been very good for me, I've used their gaskets several times and found no problems. www.olsonsgaskets.com they are located in Port Orchard, Washington and turn around is pretty quick. Larry
