Dave Gray
Hopefully some of our members can help me identify this old 4 Cylinderengine. It is a overhead valve engine with very little identification on it.I did find a logo cast into the block and head. The logo is a large S with an Finside the top loop and CO. in the bottom loop. Any help identifying this wouldbe appreciated.Regards,Dave GrayCarlisle, Pa.

Layden B
It appears that the starter is missing but generator remains. Is there any name tag on it? Info may be very helpful.
Guest Al Brass
Has French or Euro look to it through my eyes. Has the generator got a name tag?Al
Dave Gray
The information on the generator tag appears to have been painted on at onetime, but is now bare. No stamping appears on the generator.Dave
Dave Gray
I posted this same question on another website and someone posted a picture of a Waukesha truck cylinderhead with the same SF Co. logo as I posted in the photos.Apparently they were a foundry that did the castings for a number of engine manufacturers.Dave
Guest Foggy norm
This may seem a bit far fetched, it looked familiar, was my first impression. Something I've seen year's ago in an old Hi-Lo/forklift, the pedal's threw me, but the old "tug" truck's used in factorie's or at airport's have a similar configuration to auto's. Humm...... CarlLaFong
I don't think a forklift would have an OHV engine. It seems pretty small, if that generator is full sized. Is the water pump integral with the gennie? I did notice the poor alignment of the rockers and the valves. it's an odd ball, for sure.
Guest Foggy norm
Yeah John, I've seen them, of course this is before Propane. The type of "tugs" I'm talking about are the old one's used at airport's pulling plane's and luggage cart's.norman
