1954 BUICK ADVERTISING ITEM, DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHAT IT PERTAINS TO ????

Recommended Posts

I bought this on eBay today.

It is similar to the tray that Buick gave away, during the new model introduction in 1955.

Who or what is I.B.G. ?

Who or what was Ivy Baker Priest?

(Ivy Baker Priest was US Treasurer during President Eisenhower. Is this the same Priest on the tray?

First photo: The tray in question.

Second photo: The 1955 give away tray. From my collection.

It could be the INDUSTRIAL BUSINESS GIRLS, a business women's association in the Flint, Michigan area.

I agree.

I believe Al has it.

The association of Ivy Baker Priest with I.B.G. would also make sense at that time; with Priest serving as U.S. Treasury Secretary.

So, If we make some assumptions, here are the answers.

I. B. G. = INDUSTRIAL BUSINESS GIRLS

INDUSTRIAL BUSINESS GIRLS: An association out of Flint, Mi.

Ivy Baker Priest: Secretary of the Treasury in 1954.

The Buick tray reads "Buick salutes The I.B.G. and Ivy Baker Priest Flint Mich. Nov. 13, 1954.

Thanks to all who helped.
