Guest Touch Connors
Hi: I've always like the TC and finally decided to get one. I looked at one tonight but it was dark so I'm going back tomorrow to test drive it and look at in better light. Are there any issues in particular that I should be aware of and/or be looking for when I go back? FWIW, it has 160K miles. And as far as maintenance and repairs, is that about the same as any early 90's Chrysler? And considering its reliability along with the maintenance/repair costs, it be feasible to use it as a daily driver or should it be a weekends only type-car? Thanks! Guest Butch91
hi, in the light of day, check for any excessive rust, if it is significantly rusty, stay away. check for significant fluid or oil leaks. check out the brake system very good. when you take it for a drive, check out the shifting of the transmission etc. check the tailpipe for any significant 'smoke' when the car is running. check that the headlights are all there and not broken or cracked glass, the headlights are hard to find and they are expensive. check the condition of the convertible soft top for rips, tears, holes, etc. make sure the car handles and brakes as it should. if it runs good and is sound overall, it can easily be a daily driver. i have 3 daily drivers that i brought back from years of neglect. My 2 boys are driving them, only kids in school with a Masaratiyou chould be prepared to replace all belts, hoses, brake pads, maybe brake rotors, 2 rear shocks, 2 front struts, new spark plugs, new cap and rotor. maybe need to replace tie rod ends, ball joints etc, just depends. check if ac works or not? anyway all of the parts are easliy obtainable except for body, headlights and interior parts. all mechanical parts are easy to get and replace if you are any degree of a mechanic. once the car is brought back to life, it will be a very reliable dependable daily driver. keep up with the general maintanance and repair of the vehicle. good luck.
