Exhaust out thru the bumper. Shaved door, trunk handles, emblems. No chrome. That is with out looking at interior or engine bay. If that showed up at a Buick National it would be in the modified class. Cal.

I found a couple mor pics of the '50. Looks like it wouldn't even make it in the modified class as it is powered by a Chev. Cal.

Just to prove I've got a little bit of sense left, here is what I see as post 2589. Apparently the post count for a moderator is different as they continue to see all posts, even deleted ones. So you can see why it was of the utmost importance to state I was not seeing a custom, eh? and yea brother John, I rather like that custom too, until it was revealed it has a Chevy engine that is.... From Google Maps I would say that is the same building on the corner of Powell and Pine Streets... I am amused the Dicks Liquors and Fine Foods in the first photo is now identified as E & E Fine Foods. How many businesses have survived that long, although apparently under new ownership after that many years.

Special alway had three ventiports and Roadmaster always had four. In 1953, Buicks had the teardrop shaped headlight door. In 1952 they had Chrome fins on top of the rear fenders.

91vert
Ed, thanks for the link to the '62 Invicta. Interesting read. I know it isn't for everyone but we have to remember that we are all getting older. If we are able to keep the younger generation interested they will build cars that they like. Unfortunately most of the younger crowd don't want to drive Grandpa's Buick. Cal.

Pilgrim65
Hi Guys absolutely agree , about youngsters bought myself a 53 Buick special and brought it to Cyprus , loved it so much wanted another in UK ,but have no storage or garage , so thought if buy a nice 50s classic , I would give it to one of my son in laws on the basis I would use it when in U.K. which is only a few months a year . Sent them both potential purchases , good restored cars not cheap, both turned me down, not into classics so I be leaving my classic to my stepdaughter who loves old cars. cheers pilgrim
