I JUST LOVE THE PICTURE OF THIS BUICK...........

Recommended Posts

Jeff Goldstein, an ROA member, bought the George Barris "Villa Riviera" and did an extensive restoration on it to take it back to the way it was built before it was featured in the movie "For Those Who Think Young" starring James Darrin and Nancy Sinatra.  He brought it to the last ROA international event in Williamsburg, VA this past June.   That's Jeff pictured with the car the way it originally came out of Barris' shop.  What you can't see are the two telephones, one red, one white; and an onboard TV.

The second picture is the way it appeared in the movie.  Apparently the producer thought it would show up better on film in white.

Some of us as a kid may have bought this as a 1:25 scale model

George Barris gave the keys to the car to James Darrin for use as his personal car for many years.  (Free advertising?)

My 1941 Special was passed up for a WWII era movie shot here because the art director didn't want to use two-tone cars. Ultimately there were two-tone cars there since they used some older cars.

The Hessen Affair was the name if the picture...apparently not very good and not released locally.
