I JUST LOVE THE PICTURE OF THIS BUICK...........

Recommended Posts

I recently acquired a big WWII-era black and white negative lot that has some great pictures of one (or possibly two) 1941 Buick Special convertible(s).

These pictures were taken some time in 1941 and 1942 near San Bernadino, Camp Roberts and/or Camp Haan, California.

The reason I believe there might be two different cars is because two different license plates are shown on this/these car(s) and the color hues seem to be different in a couple of shots. Some images definitely show a black-colored Buick, but other pictures appear to show a lighter color hue car, maybe blue or even dark red. It's hard to tell from black and white images.

Outstanding photos!  Where do you find collections of negatives like this?

Wow, love these photos! Thanks for sharing.  When looking at street scene photos at the time these cars were new, it is easy to see how many cars from the previous 10 years were also on the road and how dramatically different the '40's cars appeared.

I find these almost exclusively on Ebay. I have several different searches set up to find new listings of specific content that I am interested in.
