One of my current projects that I am working on is a 1940 Buick convert Super.

Needs a lot of work. Not sure exactly how custom or rodding I will do to this.

I will only try to improve if possible to the great lines and body of this gem.

More photos are to come.

I am looking for some help on some body panels if anyone has any laying around. Since this appears to be a one year body style.

If not looks like i'll be doing some fab work.

hopefully these work. I tried them last night and they showed up.

So I'm thinking floor pans pretty Swiss-cheesey? Years ago I took my '57 Eldo from North Hollywood CA to a Kruse auction at the Ionia Cnty (MI) fairgrounds--which was pretty much rained out. I continued on to Ohio where I parked it at the Texaco where I worked at the St Rt 97 exit of I-71. A big Lincoln pulled up next to it and a big guy got out and walked carefully around the Cad. He opened the trunk, leaned in, then started pounding around on the floor. I'm a Buckeye. I knew what that meant. Turns out he was headed back to Massachusetts and spied the car from the overpass. Convinced there was NO rust-out he negotiated a price on which we shook hands after I agreed to deliver it. We talked a bit, then I interrupted...."Say, um, where exactly am I delivering it?" He replied, "Framingham." I asked, "What kind of ham??"

That is how I got to see the writers' colony in Hartford (I'm a Twain fan), have lunch on the 52nd floor of the Prudential Building in Boston (and see the Capital, the nearby brownstones, Logan International and the Atlantic for the first time) and nature in all its October glory before turning the Cadillac over to Bert Sickles in Framingham. On the way back with my buddy Dean-o Black (who is part Indian and speaks few words [the more for me!]), we stopped at an overlook of a Gettysburg battlefield. I glanced sideways to read a marker that proclaimed, "From this point, Union General Sickles fought to . . . . "

"Wow!" said I. "Hmp," said Dean-o.

Small world, isn't it? So it is you reminded me of the "Case of the Solid Eldorado." Good luck with your project. I'm liking that Buick!

Floors are in pretty good condition. I will post some pictures. At this point I have torn down most of the car.

Still have to pull the motor n tranny. Got the body off. I have to say so far car is solid with a few rotted areas.
