To make a long story short, 22years ago I pulled the engine on it to rebuild it, the owner of the car decided that he wanted a chevy 350 put in it I wouldn't do it. I left that shop two years later, I stopped by that shop two years ago and was shocked to see that '54 Skylark still there, nothing had been done to it. I asked about the status and the owner of the shop said that if I wanted it I could have it, that he was selling the building. The owner of the car hadn't been heard from in over twenty years. That's the short version of how "I came into a '54 Buick Skylark"

It happens. I was offered a 54 about 3 months ago. It was taken apart years ago for a restoration that never happened. Owner died and kids wanted it gone. Supposedly all parts were there. I passed................bob

I believe repros are available at around $2500/pair. Chrome platers love Skylarks.

Do you have the name of the company that makes these?

Few things more expensive than a free antique car.

I have a 3-5 year restoration project in front of me, it'll be far from free by the time it's finished.

I have a lot of missing parts, all the trim, interior and exterior, seats, bumpers and a few engine covers, the tail lights are something that I knew would be the hardest to find. Basically what I'm getting looks as if it were a donor car. I have a lot of work in front of me, I'm just excited to have what I have, to start with.

Ken Mitson Repros a lot of parts for 54 Skylarks, including tail lights and side badges. He advertises in the 53-54 Buick Skylark club newsletter. If you contact me at my office, imotors1@earthlink.net, I will pass on his info. Good luck in your project. I just completed one after 16 years!! My favorite car of all time!
