Another HERSHEY relic..........CIDER WAGON plate

Recommended Posts

Here is another relic from the Fall Meet. Formed in 1955, the Hershey Region was fortunate enough to obtain its famous CIDER WAGON soon after. It appears on many early awards; and the Cider Wagon itself still greets Hershey Fall Meet visitors each year from its parking space of honor along the pathway that separates the north and south sections of the Chocolate Field. The same line drawing appears on the 1955 and 1956 Hershey meet plaques.

I showed this plate to an old-timer who remembers the Region using it for various awards starting in the late 1950's. It meaures 12 inches in diameter and is silver plate. It develops a great patina if left to tarnish. It has picked up a few light wear marks over the decades; but is nice enough to display anywhere.

You can have this piece of Hershey history for $25 and $10 for shipping. The first PM gets it. I'll accept paypal, money order, or your personal check; but don't wait............or some other relic may own it first!
