I've done a lot of research but can't identify these old Dodge letter/emblems. Help if possible.

I'm trying to figure out what year and vehicle these are off of. They were painted red on the inside. Are about 1 1/2" x 3/4" and have part # 2165521, 2165055...they each have a different number.

1961 Dodge full-size cars. Front of hood, above grille, and on the rear deck lid.

The part/casting number also are of 1961 timeframe. 2______ numbers were 1960 decade. _1_____ indicates first year of use was 1961.

Similarly, 3-series numbers were 1970s, 4-series were 1980s, 1-series numbers were 1950s.

I found some pictures of 1961 Dodge cars, but only a few were close enough or of a large enough file size to really enlarge very much, but the general shape of the letters can be seen on some. 1960 was script and 1962 was a different car all together.

Put "Dodge 1961" into Yahoo! and it'll come up with an "Image Search". In that search, there are a few pictures of a 1961 Dodge police car which show the letters about as good as I could find.

Enjoy!

You're welcome. Also, you can click on "AACA PHOTOS" at the top of this page. This will bring up "The Gallery" of car pictures in a searchable database. Then click on "DODGE" and you'll find a light green '61 Dodge station wagon relatively quick in the thumbnail pictures. Click on the thumbnail for the larger picture.

Enjoy!

Those two photos were a big help. I think I could really see the similarity. You're a genius!
