My new Reatta

I just acquired this nice 1990 convertible Reatta. Unfortunately, the rear window came loose from the fabric, which meant immediate repair or don't drive it in the Pacific Northwest. I glued it up with rhino glue - but used a little different setup from the method described in on the corvette forum. It worked great. Below is a photo from earlier today.

I took the photo in the Bayview Cemetery, which is also a public park in the City of Bellingham. It is adjacent to Whatcom Falls Park - A beautiful wilderness within the city limits.

My Reatta is White (of course) with a Tan interior. It was originally a Canadian Car. I purchased her at the beginning of the month and put 1600 miles on the clock in the first 4 days of ownership. It was a bit of a stretch as a fly-in, drive home purchase, but "Miss Paloma Blanca" drove and handled flawlessly on the trip home. She is an old girl, however, and has already started her "don't ignore me" plea. First, "Fix my loose rear window!" Done. Second, "Watch my instrument panel go blank" Only once, but now I've been warned. And, three: "Service my AC - Never mind I'm OK." I'm beginning to think that Blanche is a bit of a fickle girl, but I plan to keep her around awhile.

I'll post more photos of her front side when she is let out of the garage again. But I am fond of the posaderas view.

Excellent. I should take mine to Chuckanut drive sometime. What was the border experience taking this car back into the U.S.? Did they physically inspect your car? Any taxes, forms, hassle, etc?

Miss-communication on my part. The car was originally from Canada, but I didn't buy it there. She came by way of California. Some one else imported her from Canada. I don't think the import process is too difficult. WA State will always hit you up for taxes, I don't know about paying duty, but you need to obtain the car's birth Certificate, the MSO, and of course a clear title from the Canadian seller.

Don - Here is what I've used in the past (used on a cloth top but should do the trick with vinyl): Loctite Vinyl, Fabric & Plastic Flexible Adhesive from Loctite Adhesives

Thanks Ervin, So far the repair job to the top is holding well and is water tight. Time will tell if the rhino glue will hold long term. My next project is to figure out the computer code thing. I saw the instructions on the ReattaJournal site; and was able to get some on the EC Codes to display. However I was unable to clear anything, and I still don't quite understand all of the details. I would like to reset the codes so that the Daytime running lights are on as the car was originally delivered in Canada. It is dark up here in the PNW, even in the daytime - so there is an extra advantage to being visible to the other drivers. Let me know if you organize another gathering of the Reatta faithful in your locale, as I am always looking for an excuse to visit places warm and sunny.

Don, if you keep the fog lights engaged, they will work as your DRLs and will turn on/off with your ignition.

But going the route via the car's computer, once you get into programming, I believe the number to program is 145 (or possibly 144). That will keep the fog lights on no matter the on/off position of the switch. Someone else should chime in if I'm mistaken.

Turning on the fog lights via the switch will also turn on the parking lights at the same time.

Programming the DRL function via programming the BCM just turns on the fog lights by themselves.

In both cases they will turn on and off with the ignition switch.
