DAVES89 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 We had snow showers in northern Wisconsin yesterday. So next weekend I am putting away the Red and driving the Black. Only thing different between the two is color [inside and out] and that the A/C doesn't work on the Black. Don't think I will need the A/C much more this year... BTW went lookin for a snowblower on Craigslist. Found a Toro 2 cycle 20"unit for my walkway and patio. I have pavers and limestone and my 7HP 2 stage blower just doesn't work well on it. Did well on the price, works well and has electric start.
ptt Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Someone was just saying recently that the FARMERS ALMANAC says we are in for a dry winter (less snow)....if true you may not get much use out of your snow blower!
NCReatta Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Still driving the convertible down here. Got a little colder today, but had the top down all day yesterday. Probably going to put it in storage this month sometime and drive my new 90 Maui Blue/grey coupe with 69k this winter. Blue car needs a fuel pump, but will probably have that done this week. Couple more local parades that I may use the convertible for, but otherwise it will be in storage.... But I may have to bring it back out for those days we have in winter where the temp gets up to 75.Sent from my mobile device using Forum Runner
padgett Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Next nine months are what we put up with summer for, don't expect to put my top up again.
Ronnie Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Congratulations on your purchase Dave. You mentioning the snow blower just made me think. I have never known anyone who has a snow blower.
Bushwack Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Its getting colder out here. I think we dipped a hair below 80 today and morning drizzle is forecast for Wednesday & Thursday. Gotta find that windbreaker and clean out the rain gutter of that one leaf.Truth is, as much as I like SoCal weather I envy those who get to experience all four seasons. I spent the better part of 3 years in Colorado and embraced each rain, wind and snow storm.
DAVES89 Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 Congratulations on your purchase Dave. You mentioning the snow blower just made me think. I have never known anyone who has a snow blower. Ronnie, And now you know a guy with two! I'm probably the only guy on the forum with 2 [or more] Reattas and two snowblowers. Unless maybe it would be Jim. I knew starting this post would bring out all you "fair weather" types...
padgett Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Not at all, we have winter, there are 100 days when the utility bills go up and you do not go outside (or in the garage) unless you have to. Thank goodness that is over for '12.
KDirk Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Have been in the 40's to low 60's here for a few days, and looks to be a fairly locked in pattern now. I expect we'll still get a few "freak" 70+ degree days before winter, but those are unpredictable. Heck, a couple of years ago we had a major tornado outbreak on new year's day as it was like spring out. Was high 60's, very mild and felt great out. That is, until it was apparent that a tornado was bearing in on us, and actually hit (and did major damage) not 5 miles from me. The closest I ever got (yet) to thinking I was going to have one or more of my cars sacrificed by mother nature. Dodged that bullet, but not by much. KDirk
Guest culus Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Kevin, last friday I took the black drop top and lady to Bob's drive in down on 67 for lunch. Short trip but the top is still down waiting for another nice day before the top goes up.
Booreatta Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Kevin our weather here is a lot like St.Louis and hopefully we will have lots more 70+ before December. I usually think that February is our coldest month. Never minded the snow, but the Ice is a killer.Just a note, 20 years ago I purchased a snowblower, not a fancy key start, it has the pull rope. It has never been used and when everybody posted about snowblowers I dug it out and the wheels which are hard rubber are flat spotted from not using. Didint even try to start it. Its the kind that the fuel has to be mixed. So now I have the weedeater snowblower, generator, chain saw, 5 cars that dont get driven much. Not to mention the riding mower and the self propelled push mower.
