I have a 68 custom skylark I put a 400 with a 400TH in it. I fecently purchase a original 68 posi rearend with 2.93 gears. All mybooks show these gearsfor the 400-AT and 3.42 for 4-speed. What I would like to know is, how would the 2.93gears handle on the hwy. and street? My original non-posi rearend has 2.73 gears.

Since we are on the topic of posi's here... I have a 71 rear in my 70 skylark. I am trying to figure out is mine a 30 spline or 28 spline, as I am looking for a posi unit myself. Can you guys shed some light on the subject ? confused.gif" border="0
Thanks,
Francisco

With the 2.93 in my Riviera I cruise at around 80mph at 3000 rpm. Thats what most modern cars cruise at, but they have an overdrive.
We could really wake up our classics if we put lower gears and an overdrive in them. Now if only we had the money rolleyes.gif" border="0
