I just got my sunroof switch, and when I installed it, the roof will now open about 2 inches in the back then the motor sounds like it freespins. I don't even know where to start. What does one look at in this situation? I've had to put the cables back in synchro on my 99 Sunfire, but it isn't stuck, just not opening all the way.

I am officially an idiot. I press it forward, and it pops up in the back. I press it back, and it closes. I press it back again, then it slides. So it works. I'm just too stupid to figure it out for 3 days at a time. Out of curiosity, what parts of the sunroof track need greased on these cars?

You only need to grease or lube the areas where two parts pivot or slide. There are some pivots that allow the back to pop up, lube those.

The top panel is attached to runners that slide in the track, that needs to be lubed.

Before you start applying lube, you might want to clean away any old grease.......it has probably attracted dust and dirt. dirt in grease is not a great lubricant.
