Guest
I have a 62 Skylark with a V6 198 bolted to a Muncie M20. Aside from the easy, but pricey 215, what other options are available?
Guest
i do not think that the 215 v8 is too pricey. plus the engine looks neat in that car with the four speed. i have an article from a past hemmings rod and performance on the 215 v8 and how to add power to them. it also lists people who build these motors. if you would like i would copy the article or give you the info so you can back order the mag. it was only a few months ago so you should have no problem getting the back orer.
i would go with the 215 v8. aluminum, unique, and it looks great in that engine bay.
john
86 2dr.ltd
I thought I'd read somewheres , once that that V6 could be built into outrageousness as well? Dont remember the site? Werent they road raced successfully and reliably in the early sixties?
YellowLark
The Buick aluminum V6 was sold to Rover and used for many years in British cars. They still make speed equipment for it. Search this board and the General forum using "Rover".
The Old Guy
The 215 CI aluminum V8 was sold to Rover. Buick never produced an aluminum V6. There are some after market aluminum heads available for the later V6 That were used mostly by the GN group, as they like to go fast.
YellowLark
Sorry, Old Guy, don't know what I was thinking of in that response (let's see - six has two less wires than eight, hmmmm).
