47clubcoup
Hi iv got a 47 lincoln and im rewiring it. Do you need the ignition switch on in order for the head lights to work? Im also trying the fog light switch to see if im in that mode if the head lights dont work. Any sugestions as the origenal wiring is gone, so im working with luck and hit and miss.Thank you for any help.Mike
ralphnof49
Mike the headlights power does not go through the ignition, neither does the power to the fog lights. Either the headlights or the fog lights are on not both through a toggle switch on the left side of the dash. Ralph

Mssr. Bwatoe
The funny silver box under the dash with the coil resistors is a automatic circut breaker designed to protect from headlight short / overload.. power is direct feed from batt to switch to this device..big heavy wire duel to large amp draw..Ck power at this point..trace from there. 47clubcoup
So I dont have to pull the ignition out to turn on the lights or to test them when im testing wires under the hood to see what wires go to what lights. IM happy. That way i wont burn up the points running current through them. Thank you very much.
