R.White
I have noticed in the Mechanics Instruction Manual that valve seats on the four cylinder cars are 43 degrees and that the valves themselves are the usual 45 degrees. If this is the case, did Dodge Brothers produce their own valve seat cutters? I have never seen 43 degree angle cutters for sale. I presume 45 deg. cutters are used these days.? Would this be the case?Ray.
Guest DodgeKCL
45 degrees is the common one for Chrysler in the 30s. Don't know about the 20s.
R.White
yes, I feel it counter intuitive to have a 43deg. seat and a 45deg. valve face. Could it be a mistake in the literature - it wouldn't be the only howler in the manual. Then again, I am no expert and hopefully someone here can elucidate.
