ElectricBanana
This grille photo turned up on another site. I'd really like to know the make of car (and year, if possible). Thanks in advance for any help you folks may be able to offer!
earl e rizer
Looks like a 37 Stude, but the chrome headlights & details aren't right. More like a REO truck?
Dave Mellor NJ
I think Luddy's right. Here's a 37 Study
ElectricBanana
Thanks guys! Looks like you nailed it!!To add a bit to the story - my wife sent a birthday e-card to a friend of ours. It had that photo as the cover of the card. The guy she sent it to is the 'Curious George' type... I'm sure that the first thing out of his mouth the next time he sees us will be: "Thanks for the card - What was the red car?" So - I knew I had to be ready!! I had searched the 'brochure' site, but it doesn't have a link to the '37 Studebaker.
Dave Mellor NJ
That hood ornament on the red car bothers me. It looks like a modified 36 Ford. Also there's a seam in the fender of the Studebaker that isn't in the red car. I'm thinking it might be a european Ford from the late 30s, but go ahead and tell your friend it's a 37 Stude he won't know the difference. hanski
This is definitely a late 1930s Jawa Minor of Czech origin.

rocketraider
Handsome little beast. Shows we need to think outside of North American makes sometimes. Even with the late-30s European political turmoil, they made some amazingly nice cars. And, as I often do here, I have learned something today.
