Guest
I believe it came from a 1970 cutlass. I have heard these rears are 12 bolt with 10 bolt guts???
Guest
I would think it should work, it's a A-Body right on.. But Buicks are better
Guest Daves69
The Olds rear will bolt in. You might have to modify the driveshaft to match the yoke or it might not be the correct length. Your original rear is a 8.5" corporate rear lots of parts available to upgrade.
Guest
I have also been considering replacing my rearend http://buickperformance.com/axles.htm may be able to provide some information.
I had a bad rear in my 70 when I bought it, and put a 71 3.08 that came with the car, I ended up having to cut the driveshaft about an inch and a half to accomodate the 71 rear. My guess is you may have the opposite problem - your driveshaft may be short 1.5 inches. That site above describes the situation - check it out.
Francisco
72 Skylark 350 Suncoupe (RIP)
70 Skylark 350 Current bundle of joy!
