Lincoln Continental prototype?

Recommended Posts

I'm guessing that the car is customized "regular production" 1940 Continental (they were hand-built, thus the quotes). I have found no evidence that states the early "production" cars retained the 1939-type headlights. The grille and hood appear to be stock, which are way different from what appears on the prototypes. I also note the chrome gravel guard on the rear fender, which should be rubber, two-tone wheels which should be all body color, and radial tires. It is obvious the person who owns it was not interested in having a high-point restoration (not that there's anything wrong with that).

You have to love the enthusiasm of the man standing next to it.:)
