Guest Cajun Reatta Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Hey guys, I went to change my license plate lights yesterday on my 90 and the right light housing was gone! it looked as if it had snapped off at the clear plastic piece on the back and and the wires that connect in the back of it, and ideas of how to get down in the little whole and possibly fish it out, dont wanna get pulled over for a license plate light out haha! NCReatta Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 You should be able to reach up behind the back bumper (it's tight) and maybe plop the wire back through the hole.If you need a replacement socket, I have tons.
rguard Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I just had the same thing happen to the right-side license plate bulb on my '90 Reatta too.Just remove the one screw and remove the lens. Then make a hook with a piece of wire and fish the hanging bulb out the rectangle hole.I used JB Weld to glue the broken off socket back together. The push-and-turn plug still works in the socket. Another way to get to the hanging bulb is next time you remove the taillight assembly to replace any burned out #194 bulbs, you will have easy access there.
