Guest jim king of junk
I have 2 air cooled cylinders that i know nothing about. The guy i purchased them from said they may be from a "henderson" car from the teens. These cylinders are cast iron with copper cooling fins, each cyl. has two push rod tubes and an attached aluminum rocker arm assembly at the top or side {depending on the layout} there is a small oiling tube for the rockers threaded into the rocker base. Cylinders are approximately 15" in length with rocker ass. and a bore of approx. 3 1/4". The intake and exhaust tubes are cast as part of the cyl and enter/exit on opposite sides. Valves are in the cylinders under rocker base and a spark plug hole alongside. I have looked but cannot figure out what these belong to.I HAVE ADDED PHOTOS IN THE ALBUM UNDER JIM KING OF JUNK AIR COOLED CYLINDERS. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP Edited September 12, 2012 by jim king of junk (see edit history)

CarlLaFong
Hendersons didn't have a bore anywhere near that big (about 2 5/8) and they were IOE on the early bikes (one rocker) and flatheads later on

Steve Braverman
Definitely Franklin. 1924-29, I'm not able to pinpoint the year any closer than that.

I haven't figured out how to post photos on the "thread" page. This is a real good site and I'm glad that others are willing to share their time to help. Thanks.
