AUTO CLUTCH 1941 PACKARD 120 HOW DO I TURN IT ON AND OFF

I have a 1941 packard 120 which has a auto clutch and overdrive options, I am trying to make the car operate as a regular standard, how do I shut the auto clutch off? and then how do I turn the auto clutch back on?, a secondary question is how do I properly operate car with auto clutch engaged ? my email is daveagain909@aol.com phone number 919 607 2388 i live here in raleigh area north carolina. thanks in advance

One of the buttons on dash should be labeled "Electromatic" or "Electroclutch". Don't remember which position is which but just pull or push it to the other position. If the cable is intact and properly attached at the switch end, that will turn off the switch and disable the clutch circuitry. Drive as you would any other car having an ordinary manual transmission. To turn the clutch back on, just move the button back.

As I recall you pull it out to disable. I was test driving a 110 once and the clutch hung up in the down position, I finally go the knob to work and drove it back to the dealer as maunal.

It was a everyday used car lot, so I sure they had no idea what they were selling.
