Guest
I am finally getting to my '69 GS 350 and will be starting in on the motor soon. I have two choices with the motor...rebuild the originnal '69 or a '72 GS 350 engine. Are there any advantages of one over the other? Are there differences in the valvetrains? I plan on going just a little hotter than stock for a good cruiser. Any rebuild tricks or recommendations? Any cam suggestions?
Thanks, DB
BUICK RACER
The '69 is a better choice, I think, the '72 was a low compression, emissions engine, especially if you want to do some performance upgrades.
Guest
hi, i have a 69 skylark/gs with a 69 350 motor. good, but rocker pivets and oiling scheme in 69 is difficult if you want to go to a non-stock cam. 72 w/70 pistons should do you better, but any thing above 9.5 compression can be hard with pump gas.
best of luck
69 350
400 trans
3.73 posi
jpearson96@earthlink.net
