From a 1989 article in the GS-X-Tra, "Basic intake port configuration was the same in both stage one and stage two heads. But on the exhaust side it was a totally different story!" The article goes on to say that the stage two heads, cam, and pistons along with a B4B intake, 850 Holley and headers provided 89 hp over the stock stage one engine. The stage two produced 467 peak HP and 528 lbs of torque in the article, while the stage one made 378 HP and 500 lbs of torque.
