Bill Clark 10
What if I'm doing an article about an old car and I insert an old print ad with the article. For example, this month I'm doing a short story about a 60 Dodge Wagon. Is it fair use to include an old Dodge advertisement in my article?Bill
R W Burgess 273
Hey Bill,I was waiting for another member to answer you. As far as the Publications Committee is concerned we need a "statement" tag line explaining where the photo/ad is from, whether Wikipedia fair use, or maybe "use permission" from another source.I hope this helps.Wayne
West Peterson 665
Legally, there is no need to explain where a commercial ad is from. It is stated in the ad. If it is a Dodge ad, it came from Dodge, etc. As long as you aren't using the ad for monetary gain, you are perfectly within rights to use it.
