Guest gricegear
I have a late production 1931 CD8 Royal four passenger coupe. The car is complete with fenders/running boards/grille and radiator/hood sides. No motor or transmission. Original seats/hood ornament, etc.. and misc. interior parts. My question is what is a round about value of the car as it sits. I will try and get pics of the parts soon and post them. Body is in decent shape. doors close well and trunk opens fine. I have talked with a couple people that know good info about these but I don't know if I have the time to restore it to original or not so was curious if anyone on here could guess a value. It also has a clear title. Thanks for any info or suggestions. Nate
alsancle
Cool body style. Given the missing parts I will say 6-10k. However, I'm not a Chrysler expert.
keiser31
I see what looks to be a gash and dent in the lower cowl along with some rust. If I could see the car in person I could give you a better idea, but I think that "alsancle" is in the ballpark.....maybe $8,000.00. Now if all that is missing is the engine and transmission and you have the dash, sidemount hardware, wheels and interior parts, maybe more like $10,000.00. Can't wait to see the pictures so we can give you a better idea of worth. John
dodgedh2
Nice car. If you decide to restore, I have a CD8 engine in storage. No transmission though.
Guest 33chrysler
It looks like hot rod fodder unless someone has a 4 door to sacrifice. 5-10k is about what a hot rodder would pay for it. I do know someone that has a cd-8 roadster with an extra engine. Unfortunately he passed and no one knows whats going to happen to the cars and parts. That being said parts can be found but I doubt a restorer would pay more than a hot rodder because they know what it can cost to find those last few parts. If it was a 33 dodge DO I would pay twice that.

keiser31
I would not rod that car if I never found an engine and transmission of the right ilk. Those are fantastic cars and should be restored. It's not just a four door or a rusty wreck. It looks mostly complete which would warrant a restoration.
35cz8
I HAVE to agree with Keiser!! This car is way to nice and restorable to be rodded, it should be restored and saved for future generations to enjoy. Just my opinion but I always figure that once you chop and cut, it's near impossible to go back to original.
Guest 33chrysler
The question is not what should be done with it. I think we all agree on that. To save it all you have to do is pay more than a rodder would for it. Most sellers want to get the most money possible. Unfortunately I think in this case a rodder will pay more. But please prove me wrong and step up.
