Radio noise.

A couple of years ago I was getting a lot of popping noises, and following advice from the board here, I replaced the unit in the center console with one out of a pickup. Now that one's making noises. It's intermittent, sometimes ear shatteringly loud, and other times the radio works with no noise at all. It makes no difference whether the engine is running, and it does it whether I have the radio on or playing a cassette. Naturally enough I'm wondering whether it's time to do the replacement procedure again.
