X-Frame
I am sure this has been asked before but can someone tell me what the differences are between the 1939 Mercury and Ford chassis frame? I understand that Mercury borrowed a design from Ford (or vice versa) but from a different year so they didn't share a chassis the "same" year for a while? Can someone clarify it (other than wheelbase...talking about basic design). Thanks! Guest www.sdhotrod.com
Well having restored a 39 mercury there is very little the same as ford frame is similar but longer and even the driveshaft is longer.. the motor front axle and brake parts are about all that is the same..
